Mutual Recognition Registration

If you are registered in another Australian State/Territory (Mutual Recognition) you are eligible for equivalent registration in Queensland upon the receipt of:

  • the Application for Registration via Mutual Recognition form ; and
  • the necessary supporting documentation (as described in the application form); and
  • the required fee (as stated in the application form).

The application form and Information Sheet can be downloaded from the Application Forms page of this website.

Once all of the above requirements are received in the Office, you will be entitled to Deemed Registration. Please note: Incomplete applications will be returned for completion without registration being granted.

This Deemed Registration will enable you to practice occupational therapy in Queensland. (Deemed Registration is a preliminary registration while your application is waiting to be considered by the Board.)

Your application for registration will then be considered by the Board at its next scheduled meeting, and if approved, you will receive General Registration. This registration will remain current until the upcoming 30th June, regardless of when Registration is granted.

A Renewal Application will be mailed to you in late April each year, so if you change your contact details, it is imperative that you advise the Board immediately.
